INSPIRE STRONGER CAMP 2008

im finally back from the inspire camp and i must say, this camp really is a wonderful experience! got to know more new friends and learn how to serve people more.

first day

khoonfai morning call me at around 06:40am and asked me to wake up and vote for jabez on the camp blog. but i still failed to vote because the page kept saying that my address had voted. met val, cel and leejie at semb mrt then trained to clementi to meet the rest of W415 and W146. took bus to MOE dairy farm campsite. i was having a very bad stomachache. ):

reached the campsite and huiwen told us that me, val, cel, leejie were in the same team. so, we played some ice-breaking games then we did some cheers. btw, we are JABEZ!

we went to put our bags into our bunks then reported back to the canteen for lunch. :) we had a competiton
among all the teams in the 4 houses. so we played some games at the nearby forest. the view was very very very nice! so "nature"! ok the competition consists of many stations, so our aim is just to finish as many stations as possible to earn points. while playing one of the stations, leejie's finger got stung by an insect? bee? i dunno but she was shivering.

the exciting part was next! FETCH! wow, very very very wild game i tell you. its like everyone were in a field court then the leader would start throwing things into the court and we would just have to catch it and throw to the our team's catcher. hah, they even throw in CHICKEN! and it is RAW! but chicken will be much easier to catch it because its not hard, its soft and even if you managed to get the skin or bone, you will get the points too.

after the game, we went back to our bunks and after that bathed. all of us were very dirty because some people's hands had the smell of chicken, banana.. plus we were under the very very hot sun for hours. so, wow after bathing.. so refreshed! we went to think of the drama to present after our bath.

for dinner, my house had to serve, so we sort of help to give out food. had dinner after serving then we had a session at the nearby salvation army. wow, the session was great! calvin preached for the first time and the presence of God was very very strong. also, each house presented their dramas and i thought shamgar's drama was the best. ours was very funny. after the session, they were about to collect orders for supper but i didnt buy. i regretted so much! when the meepok came and everyone was eating, i was very hungry! did our quiet time for 1 hour at the canteen then went back to our bunks to sleep.


supposingly there should be leejie and kaixin joining us but they went to join shihui at the other bunk so left only me, val, cel and jan. ):


we were ready to sleep! see! we were inside our sleeping bags already!

NO, we didnt sleep. out of a sudden, people came telling us that there would be a nightwalk! the time was around 1 plus at that time. so went for the nightwalk. kinda scary cos thought that there will be people scaring us but nope. so overall it was quite fun!

second day.
val's alarm and janadez's alarm rang but no one woke up. after awhile, someone asked us to wake up we then wake up. we were super tired and sort of no energy. anyway, we went to the canteen to do our morning exercise then go back to take our bibles, pens, notebooks. we had breakfast first before going to the salvation army again for our second session. wow, i was having a bad stomachache again. told shannen and she gave me some painkillers.

second session was great. the presence of God was again very strong! pastor also prayed specially for shannen. after the session, we went back to put down our bibles and pens then changed to our sports attire because we were going to play BUILT TO LAST.

we had to go back to the field court again, and we have to find resources around there to build our shelter. the shelter must cover all the people in our house. ours was quite a successful one. then we have to run together under the shelter then 5 people have to piggyback 5 other people then tied their legs together. wow, we thought we won the game and we cheered. we even went back to the starting to cheer again. in the end, for the tieing legs part, we were supposed to tie all legs together and not in pairs.. so, we got last. ): another game was to used the water bombs to aim and shoot the newspaper lollipop. but ours did not win too.

went back to our bunks to get ready for HAUTE COUTURE! so we went to bath and then get changed then we had a shuttle bus to bring us to the cuppage plaza where the haute couture will be held at. reached the place and celeste and valerie went for usher duties so me, shihui, jan, leejie, kaixin and zhengyang went to buy drinks at 7-eleven. after buying drinks, had dinner then waited for friends.



yokelin, wanqi, karming, apple, sebastian, elijah, fusheng, kent, terence came for the haute couture. brought them to vote for johnny and jodie then headed to the auditorium. games first then praise and worship! performances by some singers then a message by Pastor Zhuang. so glad that yokelin and elijah and kent received christ. woo! johnny was in the beauty pageant and he did a good job!

took the shuttle bus back to our campsite and its more entertaining now because we were entertained by shumen. :) SIA = Shumen International Airlines. we reached the campsite and then headed to the canteen to wait for debrief then we headed back to our bunks.
JOAN AND JUSTINA JOINED US FOR THE SECOND NIGHT. :)

khoonfai came to our bunk and told us that he would be ordering mac. so we ordered too. val, cel, me ordered one meal to share. then val went to sleep because she was very tired. cel and i were at our bunk at first but very boring so headed to canteen. in the end at there made us more sleepy so accompanied cel back to bunk and went to find shihui, leejie, justina and zhengyang who were talking at the canteen. finally, the meal came and went to wake celeste and valerie up but celeste was too lazy and no matter how i wake valerie, she wont wake up. so after i had my meal, i went back to sleep. wow, FAT!!!

third day.
woke up at around 7 plus. yunting yesterday said she will wake us up at 7am so i put alarm at 7am. then in the end i woke up, she was still sleeping. so i returned back to sleep. wow, tiring! packed our bags.

our house had to serve for breakfast. so val, cel and i were kinda kanchiong. we reached the canteen fast and we stood at our serving places and waited for people to come so we could serve. in the end, i didnt serve because no one came to my station as they had theirs on the front. breakfast was great and after that we headed back to city harvest church at jurong west to have our last session.

last session was very saddening.. but beeleng preached about the used to(s). she prayed specially for johnny too. then we had a video made by shannen last night.wow, the video was very touching because it recapped our days at the camp. after that, prize presentation. congrats khoonfai, jaren and johnny for winning the prizes.

break camp at around 2 plus. we hugged each other and thanked each other for the love and friendship. ): very sad to break camp. we went to riveria to have our photos taken together as a house as a team as a camp.. after that, had lunch at the second best coffeeshop. took bus back to boonlay mrt after that and went to mrt station to train home. yunting and val's voices damn sexy! reached home around 5.
